hi guys im in the prosess of arguing with ms i have dixons arguing with me too (on my side) my console went back to ms and came back without feet and they ripped through the warranty sticker i also got a letter stating "tampered with" i rang ms and they apologised stating they had made a mistake my console hasnt been checked and shud not of been shipped back so i sent it to them a second time, 5 days latter it came back with the same letter and the feet missing/warranty sticker in taters and this time they broke both my faceplate mem slots, i was furious and rang with a right argument, but they were having none of it, so i got dixons involved (as its still in warranty with them) they too were furious at how i have been treated and are on my side .................... lol :D
anyway im not sure how this is going to end but i think i had better put the original fw back on my hit (so it wont play backups) & my little rant here is a long arsed way to ask how i would go about doing the back-wards flash ???? thanks in advance

Is this the same console that you got back and it said it was tampered with, so you drilled the case to do the xclamp fix only to get a call from M$ saying they made a mistake?

Which repair centre are you dealing with, the one in germany?

i am ROYALY  but i still need a pointer just to get the hit drive back to stock ???

is it like my older post (info from sadalius) but i would just choose hit instead of sam

Going back to stock with a samsung and jungleflasher is pretty easy.

1. Connect up your samsung to your PC and power it on. If you have ixtreme 1.5 on the drive, eject the tray and power it off and push the tray back in half way.
2. Open jungleflasher and click on the MTK Flash 32 tab. Click on Sammy unlock. Ignore the instructions on closing the tray halfway since you already have and follow the rest of the on screen instructions, but if it asks you to power the drive off and on at any point, do so. Once it's unlocked, it should show information about the drive in the flash chip properties area.
3. Click on the Firmtool 32 tab. Click open target firmware and choose your stock samsung firmware.
4. Go back to the MTK Flash 32 tab and click write. It will ask you if your sure, click yes. It will then erase and flash each bank individually, then do a verify.

yes / no any1 :)

If you can get JF to work with your hitachi, just tell it to restore it. It will flash it back to stock.

i just wasnt aware jungleflasher was so hitachi friendly as i dont use it (guess thats why help wasnt forthcoming)
but jungleflasher has found the drive iv put it in modeB (i asume its the same as the flash just backwards) right port correct drive selected, click on restore drive and i get this :-Restoring Stock f/w to Hitachi 0078/0079 by Ram Upload Method via WIN32 API
Dumping Flash:................................
Drive rev undetermined, Aborting!
wot am i doing wrong im restoring a 79fl drive to stock ???

i just dont use JF and am unused to it ? im using the new 0.1.64 beta
i have the orig fw in jf folder

another few attempts gave me :-Restoring Stock f/w to Hitachi 0078/0079 by Ram Upload Method via WIN32 API
Dumping Flash:....................Ram Upload Dump Failed
ok iv burnt of the 79unlock cd and done it and renamed my orig fw to "orig79-4d20.bin" i thought it was doing the doo but then it said "orig bin file failed MD5 hash check" ? wots that mean then its definatly the orig fw backup ? this is just a renaming thing isnt it ? what do i call it ? if not orig79-4d20.bin i have not a clue iv tried leaving of the .bin bit but still no joy............ oh i could do with a bit of joy its always my own things that do my head right in....
can i use the orig fw that comes with fwtoolbox (are they stock fw ?) altho theres no "79-4d20" there is only a "78-4d20"

oh my heads dun in   and its 4am in the uk so im of to bed for as long as my kids will let me sleep, so il pack this in for wots left of the nite & hope for a pointer from the more knowledgable than me clan :D

DUNIT USED THE FW IN IX1.5.1 FOLDER AND BINGO

The FW's that they have in JF's FW pack are MD5 checksumed. They are also blank of a drive key. When you tell JF to restore a drive, it does a dump, gets the key, then grabs to original FW from in firmware folder. Now considering that, your actual original FW already has the key in it. That is going to make the MD5 checksum different than the one thats included in the firmware pack of ixtreme. JF sees that it doesn't match and won't load it. So it's not just a renaming issue.

Like you said, use the fw from the 1.51 set and you should be good.
