Lite-o flash

Post by technics »

Hey guys

I was just wondering is it possible to flash the lite-on drive using the soldering method on the r707 without using a connectivity kit and using jungle flasher??

like

1 solder the drive 707

2 extract the key

3 flash the drive

??

or do i have to buy the connectivity

just that im low on funds at the moment and was just wondering is it possible just using the 360 to power the drive on, close it half way and power it back on using the 360?

any help would be much appreciated

thanks in advance

No you MUST have the kit to do it. You need the serial cable to dump the drive.

What Shootsteel said! The connectivity kit is more than just power it's actually a serial converter. There is very specific data that comes across the "power" cable from the drive to the kit that needs to be sent to JF or iPrep in another very specific fashion. There are schematics out there to help you make your own, but the time and effort in doing so will cost a lot more than putting up the money for one.
