im trying to folow the video tut Cofree made for a bad flash recovery, except im trying it on a sammy instead of a lite on...

im having trouble when i get to the point where the computer resends the vendor intro to the 360 and i can't get it out of
STATUS: 0x80 to status 0x72 and get the drive seen.

does anyone have any pointers on how to get it flawlessly done like the in the video(or somehwat close to that :lol: )

oh, after searching through the threads i got the feeling that it would work the same for a sammy, just with the l-o-eras...

i locked my sammy bcuz my older computer froze when erasing the 0 bank when i tried to write ixtreme 1.6 to it. now it wont be recognized in j/f, iprep, or dosflash. and when it goes to send the vendor intro in dosflash/ newer ipreps it always just stays at status 0x80 no matter what my timing is with hitting the power button on the 360 and the hitting it again to power on the drive...

plus i pm'ed sadalius and told him my situation and he said i was doin everything ok, and that the only other option he could think of would be to hotswap this sammy with one that works after i get it recognized on my computer... that'd work no matter what right?

Yeah you can swap the drive, but you would need the key to the console which if you dont have it backed up or cant get it from the drive you wouldnt be able to do this.

Im thinkin you may have bricked your drive some how, properly the freezin part when flashing the banks

any 1 else got any ideas?

i did get the key and the ofw off the drive luckily, so i hope all is not lost.

i am not a pro by any means, but i thought the sammys could only be locked, and not bricked... but like i said im no master of knowledge on modding 360s...

i would like a little other input though before i go and try to find another sammy to buy, just so i dont go spend money when i can get it done for FREE :mrgreen:

So it seems that hotswapping would be the only way left to go. i'll get myself a new sammy and see where i can go from there and post what i find on here guys. thanks for all the help thus far...

I see these posts the majority of the time & think to myself, i too was like this @ one point however, it seems you guys are making it much more difficult for yourselves than what it is. what you need to do is the following:

buy yourself a new drive. end of question;

You got what you need & that's what counts. $35 is not going to kill you (no pun intended) once you get your new drive use iprep 1.9 & make sure you update the xml file (iirc) that's the update you'll need to be used in conjunction w/iprep. once done, boot to bios via usb then use command fsam 1234567 12345 or w/e your serial # is & you should be golden. btw, i'd recommend you purchase a ck3 as well. good luck (note u may want to use cofree's iprep 1.9 tutorial to make it easier for you as well). hopefully you have a via 6421 card as well otherwise u might be able to use your onboard sata ports. good times
