Has anyone tried this yet?

lo83info.exe is for msdos,
lo83info_32.exe is for windows
Portio32 is for windows

If using Windows
1 - Download and install Portio32 Package
2 - Connect your Liteon 83850c drive to your PC via SATA
3 - Run Lo83info_32.exe (sata port) and follow the prompts
4 - A file will be saved with a drive unique name as a .bin

If using Dos
1 - Connect your Liteon 83850c drive to your PC via SATA
2 - Run Lo83info.exe (sata port) and follow the prompts
3 - A file will be saved with a drive unique name as a .bin

Usage: FreeKey.exe lo83outputfile

I don't have a LiteOn 83850c to test this out with. Will someone try and post the results?

this comes with a warning if you do it this way you will get a working hacked drive but the identify and serial string data will be wrong possibly leading to a ban from xbox live (who knows?)

install this you only need to install send to comand prompt.

put the lo83 extract [barcode].bin into the same folder as freekey

then right click on the freekey exe and select send to comand prompt then type in the name of the lo83extract [barcode].bin write the key down ([barcode] being the number it generated when it saved)


Open your DVD83 extract ( [barcode].bin ) with a hex editor



At the end of the file (after the last FF) enter your decrypted DVD key and save the file as [barcode].bin.key

(follow this format precisely)



Load JungleFlasher 0.1.65b.(out now) Scroll to the DVDKey32 tab, then click "Import 83 .key file" and navigate to the

[barcode].bin.key file.



Once opened you should be back at the Firmtool32 tab. Click "Spoof Source to Target", then go to

"Manual Spoofing" where you'll paste in your DVD Key.

click save to file.

then flash the drive as normal.

This is link does only takes you back to a clipping stating that you have got to pay for the service with foundmy

Supposed to be new IX within the week....I would not test this method out unless I just had 200 bucks lying around with nothing to do....wait for IX would be my advice.

Kudos to the guys that did this though....anyone gonna shop at foundmy after this?

Guys at the moment does it really matter about IX for this drive, because if we cant extract the key then it aint much use is it ???

When I try open LO83info_32 nothing happens, it just opens really fast & closes. No Dxxxxxxxxxx.bin created. I'm a newbie so any help would be appreciated, thanks!

You have to run it from the command prompt. Open a command prompt, make sure your bin and lo83info_32 is in the same folder and type "lo83info_32.exe" and hit enter. Then follow the prompts.

You didn't read it right. The program "freekey.exe" (witch i posted a rapidshare link for) is the key extraction tool. Tool.

lo83 is the program used to get the bin that contains the encrypted key. Then you use the freekey program to decrypt it.

Freekey v1.1 has been released, but needs to be re-uped. Something is wrong with the link that was posted to it.

Also, extra care needs to be taked with these. There is a string that has be be in the dumped data, or you will end up with a brick if you don't spoof it into a spare drive to test it with first.

Is there a video tutorial for this then, i must have read it wrong as i can know from experience that my CK3 does not read the key but was under the impression that i needed another tool to extract the key.

You won't need any hardware tools, just a way to connect the drive to your computer by sata, be able to turn it on and off when asked to do so. Other than that, you'll need the lo83, freekey and jungleflasher software.

Fantastic i have a VIA chipset and a CK3, just need a drive now to give it a go.
