Re: Never ever Try this at HOME!!!
well it may work one time
and you may burn the damn house down.
but
you will end up with a error 0020 sooner or later, and then its game over

Re: Never ever Try this at HOME!!!
Has anybody ever tried to use an oven? I know people have used them to take headlights apart, I know there's not much, if any, chipboards on them though. To me, it seems like it would work because its a controlled heat, usually, and it cools gradually too. IDK, just a thought. This is dumb to me, and like CoFree said, it probably won't last, even though my friend's 360 he did the towel trick on still works...

I thought about that but I was concerned about the capacitors burning up. They're not very heat resistant.

A couple of guides say that you should just desolder the caapacitors then resolder them after, and you dont have to insulate anything... Kind of a pain to desolder all of them...technoe wrote:I thought about that but I was concerned about the capacitors burning up. They're not very heat resistant.

Re: Never ever Try this at HOME!!!
My buddy had a box with the ring of death that I fixed, and a few months later (today) he brought it back with 0020, he decided to just go out and buy a new box. We were messing around and ended up doing this 'fix' with a mini butane torch, it ended up fixing his box, and we played some dirt 2 online for close to 2 hours, I wonder how long this box will be kicking

Re: Never ever Try this at HOME!!!
Well I have a friend that did the towel trick on his and its been working for a year now. It doesn't get constant use but it does still turn on and work. I flashed it for him and it just sits in his computer room. His roommate got a broken 360 online and they did it for that one too and its still working.
