Wow, man I don't think I've ever spent so much time on a lite-on. You would think that by now M$ would know that the people in the know are going to crack anything they throw at us.

They know that. But I think they want to make it a bit harder each time

They actually made it easier on us. Now there's no reason to open the drive.

I am kinda nervous about getting one. But with the new IPrep 10, it should be all good.

Man I use JF 1.65. It works beautifully!! It's probably the simplest flash I've done in a long time for the lite-on series. First JF 1.65 has an "Create 83 Extract", follow the onscreen guide and then just use fwz decrypter to run that file and then save the new ".key" file. Go back to JF and click "Import 83 .key file" load the file created from fwz decrypter JF will then create the dummy.bin and load the key into the new 83850c ixtreme fw and then all you have to do is Lite-on erase and flash. Never open the drive case or nothing. Just done and done!!

Start your own topic, you will get help.
You hi-jacked this topic, its not a huge deal, but if we were to solve your problem in this topic, the thread would likely be a couple pages of completely off topic posts (as relating to the thread, and first post)
