IF YOU PLAN ON USING IPREP 10 TO FLASH A BENQ DRIVE PLEASE READ

Download this file and after you have prepared your boot media, replace the ben.bat file that is there with this one.

Sadalius,

Can you give us some insight why we need to replace this file?

Yes. After shootsteel had reported his experience with trying to flash a benq for at least 15 times and had the same result everytime, I did a little research of my own. It seems that if you use iprep 10 the way it is, it will read the firmware fine, but when it goes to write it, it's setup to look for a lite-on cfw instead of the benq cfw. I edited the script and fixed it. Klutsh will probably take a look and release an update.

klutsh is on the job.

this is from the new.

iPrep v10.1 – This is a bug fix release for the BenQ VAD6038 flashing process.

If you have already tried to flash a BenQ VAD6038 with iPrep v10 and have been left with a blank drive, a fix is easy to to:
Copy the ‘BENCFW.BIN’ from the relevant backup folder and place it into the root of the iPrep USB-Stick.
Boot the iPrep USB-Stick as normal, then issue the following 2 commands,
DOSFLASH E [SATA] 1 A0 1 1 4 d8 0
DOSFLASH W [SATA] 1 A0 1 1 4 BENCFW.BIN 0
Replace [SATA] with your SATA-IO Port (This can be found in the ‘INFO.BAT’ on the root of the iPrep USB-Stick or by running the iPrep UI).

Thanks to sadalius from robinhoodsplayground for spotting the error in the batch script.

Hi. I'm new here, and I've got a question. I've tried to flash my liteon 83850c and I've gotten to the problem in the video where it freezes my cpu and locks up (not intentionally, this was my first flash.) So i go into Iprep, and When using iprep, or rather, when using a usb to load dos, can I use a virtual usb drive? I'm sorta lost a little bit after it locked up, I just knew I had really messed up. I'm so glad you guys found a way because I really need help.

Ok cool. Thanks alot. I'll try the portable hd first (my flash drive to a plunge in the washing machine by mistake), and if that doesn't work I'll just get a flash drive from the store. Will post result :)
