I hope there is a way recover a Hitachi 79. I was using Jungle flasher 1.51 to update from 1.4F/W to 1.51, I restored the drive to OFW but when I went to flash w/ HFW jungle flasher locked up and now the drive is not responsive nor is it detected by windows or jungle flasher. What are my options? HELP COFREE, you have been my savior many times lets make it one.

I have a friend who has a hitachi 47 or 78 that has a dead laser, I have the OFW and key of this bricked 79 do you think I could pull the older PCB and flash it with the 79 fw? or do I have to have 79 PCB? I have never had to spoof anything, so I'm a little confused

well if you have the key from your console
(the one with the v79 that is locked up)
you should be able to spoof in a new dvd drive of some kind
you can pick up a benq for not to bad these days
as far as changing the pcb from a v78 to a v79 i dont know never looked into it.
maybe one of the other guys have.

As far as I know all the HW in the hitachi's are the same, the difference being the FW on the drive.
As far as this drive, I dont think anything can really be done here, if it locked up and is now unresponsive, sounds like its done.
With BenQ's you can pick one up for about 20 bucks online.
