Robin Hoods Playground

hi all,i flashed a lite-on v7### this morning,all went sweet with iprep
put it in console to test and it wont play games,originals or backups(verb,singapores)
it will play dvd movie
i took casing off to see if laser was ok,put game disc in(original)and put a disc on top(from a samsung drive with metal washer to attach to magnet)it just span off when i started it.
the magnet on the spindle wasnt magnetised at all,so i looked at upper casing of lite-on and there isnt a metal washer there!
now,has it attached itself to the spindle,or doesnt the lite-on drives have a washer?
any info would be gratefully recieved

should have let you know that the "hardware"was not the trouble
