i used firmware tool box and it says all of the OFW i have are not supported or not valid firmware file.

I guess that means its over? Now i guess i need to look up putting new drives into an old xbox? or is it just better to buy new 360? Thanks for the help. If putting a new drive in is where i need to go from here will you let me know which tutorials i need to follow? I would assume its spoof or something but not real sure.

I feel like there has to be a way to find that original firmware. somewhere right?

is the only way to find a key in the BenQ-OFW.bin? i have done a recovery of my usb disk but not sure what the key would look like

well it dont sound like you are loading a firmware in firmware toolbox to me.

when it loads in, it should tell you what firmware it is and what your key is.
you have to have that key.

if you have lost it then its over.you have a dvd player sorry man
you can not put a different drive in the 360 because you would need your key to put in that new drive
it takes your key in the dvd drive for the 360 to even work.

Thanks for the help.

I guess i am done with this console. :(

I wonder if it would be too much trouble to include how to get the backup after dBen is complete. I know you mentioned booting back into windows and emailing a copy to yourself but i didnt understand exactly what i should have been emailing.

Thanks again for the help.

when you look in this backup folder there will be "ofw" file in there that is the firmware you need.

Do like CoFree said. It's not over for this drive unless you ran the flash command and it actually flashed the corrupt firmware that you got from your dump routine. Unless you tried the flash command, start all the way over. build a new iprep boot media. Maybe even try a different USB stick. Then try booting and dumping again.
