Can somebody please help me with iprep?

Hi All,

Yesterday i bought an xbox360, opened it up and prepared for flashing with iprep as in the tutorials i've read.
I put the files i needed on a usb stick, and used iprep. The stupid mistake on my part is that i pressed "press any key" at the end of the process before turning on the power of the 360 :(
And then it stucks....when i rebooted, iprep says my firmware already exists and i cannot continue..
Please, can somebody help me with how i can still fix this and flash the right firmware on?

It's much appreciated!

Iprep will not continue because the folder on the USB drive has already been created. Either delete this folder or redo the USB flash drive (probably easier), then it should work

yep, what they said ;)

or... it's possible to create more than one backup/flash session on the key

simply use another name

eg.
1st attempt : dben 1234567 12345
2nd attempt : dben 0123456 01234

the numbers are not crucial / they are used

a) to create main directory & sub directoy to store the original & modified firmware
b) for reference so you know what dump/flash goes with what box

just make sure you call up the right digits when it comes to flashing :P

I always come out of DOS & back into windows after a dump to zip them up & mail them to myself... I always tag details in the zip & the email so I know what goes with what...

Adding something like a firmware Vault to iPrep.

It scan's your USB stick and zips up, copies, maybe even emails your original firmware dumps then deletes them from the USB stick.
Adding info like 360 Serial, Firmware version and the like to a database.

I know most people wont use it, but it would be useful for installers

Sound like a good idea to me.

Too right, you could keep every key from the boxes you have flashed saved in one handy file.

That IS a good idea. I've struggled to keep my list under control. I write them down and mail them to myself.

Will be in the work's soon.
Am just working a a nice simple GUI for HD-DVD to MKV/WMV/MP4
HD-DVD to MKV is really easy and so far at most has taken me 3 hours to do a 1080p rip to MKV.

I have a similar problem, but now i cant get iprep to load. I cant get the computer to boot into the DOS interface. I am confident once i get it back into the iprep interface i can flash this BenQ drive. Any ideas?

I got back into the iprep interface. but following the steps i press yes to resent MTK vendor intro command then turn on the drive but the status never changes to D1.

I am not sure what to do.

problem after problem. instead of changing to D1 it went straight into reading bank 0... ok. It read all 4 banks and said reading finished. Then said there is "No valid key found in backups\1234567\12345\BenQ-OFW.bin!"

Stuck again.

Sometimes it sits at -- Status:0x80 never going to D1. and sometimes it goes straight into reading banks.

first man you should have started your on thread. ;) no worries

it will go strait to flashing sometimes.

start from th beginning.

have you flashed this drive.
do you have a good orig firmware dump with a good key.

if so i would put it back to stock then start over for th start.
here is a guide on doing a restore on a benq
http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... =110&t=196" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

if by chance you have flash a bad firmware in the dvd drive and do not have a copy of your orig firmware( at least the key)
then you have a bricked drive.

i was afraid of that. How can i be sure that the orig firmware or at least the key i have is good? I have A copy of original firmware, but i dont know if it is the original firmware.

I can only play DVDs now. I was tracking another thread and am trying to do a recovery now on the flash drive. I found a OFW but dont know if it has the good key.

i used firmware tool box and it says all of the OFW i have are not supported or not valid firmware file.

I guess that means its over? Now i guess i need to look up putting new drives into an old xbox? or is it just better to buy new 360? Thanks for the help. If putting a new drive in is where i need to go from here will you let me know which tutorials i need to follow? I would assume its spoof or something but not real sure.

I feel like there has to be a way to find that original firmware. somewhere right?

open that firmware with firmware toolbox 4.6
if it a lot of different letters and numbers then i would say its good.
if it a lot of the same letter or number it bad.
like all ffffffffff
would be bad.

if all it will play now is dvd then there is a bad flash in the drive.
you have to find that key.
