Morning all,

I thought i'd start a new threads with my results and comments, but it's mostly a follow-up of this:
http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... &sk=t&sd=a

So as the title states, i've been flashing my drive with success and pride yesterday. Thanks to you guys and all the hard work you put on developping the tools and making the tutos.

I was planning on using Iprep 10.7 as recommended numerous time, but i've never been able to read the key.
I was Using a VT6421A card, with CK3 pro USB and probe, here's what i've done.
Connect everything, disabled the VIA drivers, installed CK3 drivers, In Iprep i've load the IX16 FW, select Com3 for my probe (it was created with the CK3 driver installation so yeah i'm sure it's the right one) created the boot stick.
Boot with it, follow the on screen, L74 xxxxxxx xxxxx, power ON, eject, power off, close drive halfway, power on, put the probe on R707, made sure everything was green on screen and on the probe. When i hit Y and start reading all i get is a bunch of 000000 and Invalid keys. i've tried couple time and never had been able to read the key.

I was getting mad, checked all connection, everything looked fine.
Decided to go Jungleflasher route instead to give it a go. and it worked on my first attempt !!

Any idea what went wrong in IPrep ? Without changing anything to my setup it worked in JF.
With the ck3 pro can we use the USB connection or does it absolutely need RS232 connection in dos ?

Thought i could post this, for my curiosity and maybe to help out others.
Anyway i'm so thrilled that it worked, gotta love that accomplishment feeling !!! :D

Thanks a million again !

You need to have the com port set as one as this is normaly your rs232 cable, YOU WILL NEED AN RS232 in order for you to get the key with a 74850c rev lite on drive

So to use CK3 pro with Iprep 10.7 you need RS232 ?
I'm sure Coffree had mentionned in his video for Iprep that he was using the CK3 pro with usb cable ?

the usb cable is only needed for JF, with iprep you will need the probe and the rs232 if reading a l74 drive

you wont need the rs232 for the l83 drive

You need to use a rs232 cable in iprep because wen in iprep the usb drivers dont work so the usb cable wont have any effect on the drive when dumping the drive, you can pick up a rs232 cable pretty cheap on the net, you need the male-female cable by the way.
