hey guys. I havent played in a while. and this morning I turned my xbox on and all I get is Open Tray whenever I put a game or dvd in.
Ive tried several disks and nothing.
Laser problem or Firmware error?
Should I reflash it?
@edit. By the way, it is a Lite-on 7000

Ive had the open tray error a few times.
try cleaning the laser mate
If it was playing backups and originals before then i doubt u need to reflash the drive
But u could allways try
Also search 4 the rubber band trick on youtube if all else fails

laser issue.....if you can't clean it to make it work you can just replace the drive and if you do order a Samsung 28 NEW from ebay ...

I think if you do a pot tweak on the laser it should work again. Or it might just be a loose sata cable.

I agree, its likely a bad laser, could be just that dust has collected on the laser while you were not playing. Anyways try cleaning it, maybe pot tweaking, but worse comes to worse you will need a new laser.
BUT, all the lasers I have seen have been overpriced. Ive seen a couple websites that stock drive lasers, and they have been about $20.00 before shipping, thats a dollar or 2 less then a brand new drive from ebay. Same thing on eBay, ive seen lasers being sold for $18.00-22.00.
