I have a benq vad6038 drive and i made the bootusb and it loaded fine. I have my 360 drive hooked to my motherboard via sata and the drive is recognized in windows. I am using the 360's power unit. I got to the page where it says type "y" and power cycle the drive so i clicked y and enter and it says status 0xD0 and it doesnt move. i unplugged the drives power and plugged it back in very fast. i retryed this like 100 times. i read the tutorials so many times and watched a video but i cant find anyone with this problem. any thoughts?

I had a problem with iPrep 10.7 and benq. Thought I bricked the drive, because it was really slow loading etc. The banks reading took minutes. Then I remebered that I should boot my comp with the usb stick connected and with the sata connector "NOT CONNECTED" to the drive. The power to the drive was ON. When I got to the iPrep screen it all went really fast (unlike before). Only then I connected the sata cable. From then on it worked like a miracle.
Try it :) (at your own risk :)

What sata are you using?

I couldn't get the correct response no matter what I tried with an ICHX chipset, yet VIA got the correct status first time...
