I have a 360 that RROD and I have one that I mess up the drive for. Can I take the clamps from the messed up drive and transfer them to the RROD and make it work?

I suppose u could try mate.
But most people just do the X-clamp fix removing the clamps alltogether

Whats the worst that could happen

What's the error on the rrod??

And what do you mean by the clamps? It normally requires the clamps are exchanged for bolts. A lot of the time, I heatgun as well. I think it adds (a little) more life into them...

I meant the clamps on bottom of board. I went ahead and tried and still didn't work. So I will get the stuff to do the X-Clamp.
The error is 0102 i believe which is unknown. Thanks for the reply's!!! :D :D

0102 Error in the "Digital Backbone" (CPU/GPU/RAM), this is usually caused by a cold solder joint between the GPU and the mainboard.

i have fixed a few 0102 errors and have found the xclamp fix to work but only for a couple of months..i find heatgunning the board to be a much better option for resurrecting this fault

Can someone post a pic to show where you need to apply heat when heat gunning the board?

This is the tutorial I follow...

Insulation is just as important as the foil. I use bubblewrap, seems to do the job fine
