Lite-On DG-16D2S Failed to write Bank 0

Hello All :D
As the topic suggests I was flashing my Lite-On. This is the 3rd Lite-On I have tried to flash. All have went well until this one.

For reference:
I use iPrep 8.8 (because it has always worked for me), floppy drive (can't boot from USB), power the DVD with the 360 and a modified drive cable with a switch in line on the +5v lead, and home made probe for the R707 via.

All was going fine this time also until I reached the CFW writing. It went through both erase steps then started to write bank0. The computer accessed the floppy drive for about 10 seconds and the light went out on the floppy and the computer just sat at the writing bank0... prompt.

I tried a couple more times with the same results. The drive is being recognized in it's usual position @ port DFA0. All seems to go fine until the actual flash, then it just sits at the above mentioned prompt.

Any ideas as to what is going on and how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am doing this one for a friend and really don't want to have to buy him a new one. :'(

Thanks in advance.

**EDIT**
OK I also tried this tutorial from cofree:
http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... 195&t=3226" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It ended the same I'm afraid. Just stuck at the "Writing Bank 0..." prompt. The light from the floppy drive stayed on longer this time but then just went out.

I don't know why it will not take the flash, everything else goes just fine. Everything.... step by step, every time, both with iPrep and the method by cofree goes just fine until this step.

I have been letting it sit while I wrote this and it still says "Writing Bank 0..." with a flashing cursor. I just rebooted with ctr-alt-del so not a total lock up, but it is unresponsive and sits at the WB0... prompt.

Anyway was hoping some of this might give more insight into the problem.

Thanks Again.

Yea tried that, but it ended in the same result. Just sitting at the Writing Bank 0... prompt. Weird because all other functions happen as they should. The whole way through the recovery the drive responds as is should, but then nothing when it goes to write the FW to it. I don't know what to try/test next. May look into getting another drive and spoofing my key to it. That can be done right? If so may just do that and donate my drive to someone that has more knowledge and could potentially help others from it. I say my drive because I already replaced my friends 360. No need to strain a friendship over it, I made the offer, he accepted, done deal.

Oh well off to bang my head on the wall a little more. :?:

Spoofing is quite easy, as long as you have the OFW.

Yup sure do. The drive dumped just fine. I was thinking it would be simple. Just use the original CFW made by either iprep or jungleflasher. Correct? Those should contain all the original info plus the iextreme FW. Then just use the recover method and dosflash. Well that's what I was thinking at least. I have the original dump with all 4 seperate .bin files also. I found a replacement drive for $28.99 shipped. So I think I may get it just in case I can't revive this one. Just don't want to give up yet, there has to be a reason why this isn't working.
