Newb Question About Flashing

First off, GREAT SITE!. I have been to many sites looking for information and this by far is the best.

Here is my situation and question. I recently just got 1 of my xboxes flashed and while I was sitting there watching this guy flash my xbox I noticed that he used Jungle Flasher to do something ( not quite sure, I know he had to use the CK3 Probe to do something with my drive since its the newest one out) but after using Jungle Flasher, I seen that he actually used DOS to flash my drive.

Now my question is is this the best way to flash a drive (by using both Jungle Flasher and Dos)? Reason I ask is because all of the video tutorials on Robinhoodsplayground show videos of using only Jungle Flasher.

As I stated before, I have 2 xboxes and I wanna flash my other one my own but I want to do it the best yet most efficient way possible because after mine I know I will have some friends of mine that want to get it done too. Can anyone please advise me and what you think the guy I had do my first xbox did by using both and what the advantages were. Thanks and again, I appreciate this site.

He used jungle to create the firmware and dos/iprep to finish off the flash. You won't need to use the probe again if you're using jungle as it can dummy from ixtreme and do it all but if you plan on using iprep you can either do it like its never been flashed before with the probe or build the firmware with jungle and use iprep to finish it (you wont need the probe for this). Whichever way you prefer. If you're new to this it will probably be better if you stick to one program but it can also depend on the pc you have. If you've got onboard satas i'd give jungle a try but it's well worthwhile investing in a via 6421 card (not to be used with jungle until you've either disabled the drivers for it) as its recommended for iprep. What most likely happened in your case is that the drive locked up and had to be recovered in dos.....before you try to flash a lite on it would make sense to research the Lite on recovery as the lock up can happen with JF and there you be with a unresponsive drive....scratching your head.
