Need help with LITEON DRIVE

hi - I need your help...my liteon drive is MODEL NO: DG-16D2S-09C...manufactre date on drive is JULY 2009....can this be flashed or not ?

if so, i cant get the basic info of the drive to show up in JF 1.66b...im using my INTEL ONBOARD SATA cos it works fine with my previous liteon drive...when i click on the DVD KEY 32 tab...my dirve properties are not shown in the drive properties info box, everything is blank...what am i doing wrong?...do i need my ck3 usb connected or not ?...any ideas please...im trying to follow the video tut thats been posted by shoesteel....cheers

Firstly check what HW rev and FW rev it is, these can be found on the big sticker on the drive near the botton

Some drives will flash and some wont, just try a few times. But no not use a probe

ok i will try that....the good new is that i also have VIA SATA CARD on my pc....i have just followed the video tut for JF...i managed to dump the key 3 times and it matches each time, i also loaded the firmware...i dint carry on with the erase part because of the infamous via card freeze.....see my log below....
are these drives recoverable should i accidently brick it if i have the necessary files saved ?
I will also try the iprep method..as well
Why wasnt the drive properties shown when i used my intel onboard sata ?

right so you have been able to get the good key and the dummy.bin you just need to disable the via drivers, that will stop jf from looking up

errrr slight problem, i managed to get my onboard sata working and it detected the drive info in JF, i thought great...erased and got the freeze as well...see log below..can i use iprep to recover ? i have edited the dvd key for obvious reasons, but key is the same..lol

hi - but this i for LITE-ON 162DS 74850C DRIVE ?....but i have the 83850c drive..? will it work on mine

thanks mate...worked a treat....i didnt use the VIA SATA CARD....for some reason it would work, but when i switched to theINTEL ON BOARD SATA....it worked ....once again i appreciate the help and advice give by you... ;)
