[SOLVED] Liteon 7485 Reading Issue

Hey,

Was wondering if I could get some advice here.

I just flashed a liteon fw 7485 drive - got to the "liteon erase" step which returned no device details but it was thrown into mode 72.
I power cycled the drive, and did the liteon erase again, this time all the info appeared as it should have, and continued with the flashing. Everything came back good in the end, the drive write was successful and verified. I unplugged the drive, went to test it out and it turns out the drive doesnt play anything but movies and music cds.

I have the key and all the .bin files - im just wondering what the issue could be?

If its a bad flash, what steps do I go through to verify my files are ok, and then if they are, which steps do i go through to re-flash the drive?

Thanks
MK

plays nothing but movies and music.

I found something on google with almost the same situation, the guy just re-flashed his drive and it fixed it. But im not sure what steps to take to re-flash with my existing keys/files

Thanks

ok
get your dummy.bin and load that as your source
open the target 1.6 repack firmware and spoof source to target
then save to file
then go straight to the lite on erase part
Then flash as you would normally

Whatever you do dont delete those files you pulled from the drive man

let us no how it goes

When I try the lite-on erase i get:

Code: Select all

Drive returned Status 0x72
Manufacturer ID: 0x0
Device ID: 0x0
Flash Name: Unknown Type
Flash Size: n/a
Gonna leave it at the screen, not sure what to do next.

edit: Tried power cycling and doing the lite-on erase again, but the drive still wont read any original games nor copied ones. only movies and music.

heres the log:

after about 6 hours of googling I finally found the walkthrough that cured my case.

If anyone runs into a similar case just refer to that site above, it worked like a charm for me!

We have one of those too: http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... 195&t=3226" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

After reading your all your post it occurred to me what might have happened. Your key didn't get copied over.

When working in JF, and pulling the key on a lite-on, I always spoof source to target and save.
