I am trying to flash a lite on drive with iprep using a conectivity kit and prob. I followed the tut on youtube to a tee but I keep getting the error dvdkey invalid here are my steps.
1. Make bootable flash drive (I used com port 3 USB) using iprep
2. Reboot. Then put in dlit and my serial hit enter
3. it promps me to do the open tray method I do and then I put the probe in r707 hole
4. hit y then enter and I get DVDKey invalid
I have also tried port 1 but i get the same msg i've done another 360 in jf but i cant get it to work now because it keeps freezing I have tried everything I can think of but no luck : (

With the open tray, is it half open or fully open? It should only be half

That pic looks like hes using usb. also there dont look like a 9pin serial.

serial - usb or any type of usb will not work with iprep.

You will need a RS232 cable to enable you to dump the key

yes I have the tray half way open, and I didnt know that the usb wont work in iprep I tried using jf 1.66 instead I followed the instructions and installed the portio32 and follow cofree's video and it detects the drive but everytime I go to extract the key it freezes and again i am using com port 3 (usb) but it should work btw I am using on board sata its nvidia motherboard so no via card to uninstall....... any suggestions or should I just get the cable and hope that it will solve my problems..... and can I buy that RS232 cable at any electronics store or do I have to order online

Yeah you will need a rs232 9 pin male - female cable. Could also be possible that the sata controller is not compatable

Have to make sure that when you setup iprep that you specify the right serial (COM) port and the right sata port.

I'm not familiar with the keygrabber. But it should work similar to the other ones on the market. If the keygrabber is in order, and you have specified the right com port and sata port, it should work given the sata port that your connected to is compatible.
