New 360s without 2nd GPU-heatsink and Unreadable DVD (DG16D2S-09C) FW

>> mputten from ombouwservice-webshop.com reports on our forums he's seen new Xbox 360 consoles without the 2nd-GPU heatsink/heatpipe (like the early Xenon consoles). This European Forza3-pack Xbox 360 Elite has a MFG 2009-08-17, LOT 0942. It seems like Microsoft is now confident enough their HW no longer needs the extra GPU heatsink.
The device also came with an Philips-LiteOn DG16D2S-09C drive which seems unreadable by DOSflash atm ('Invalid Drive Data').
i had one of these boards but
it had a 8300 that i was able to flash
i think at this point we are going to see alot of odd coronations of mobo and dvd drive
until thing get going good

i wonder if it is going to overheat because it doesn't have the 2nd gpu heatsink

i dont think so
the gpu is much smaller and does not generate as much heat

I think this board is named Valhalla. At least thats the supposed last generation M$ will make before the new xbox is released.
The heatsink's should be quite capable of dispursing the heat as the chips are apparently 45nm (if its jasper, it'll be 65nm)

hey bought my second xbox 360 elite and it was 2009-08-11. Well i opened it and looked, It looked exactly as the picture up here. It had a: Lite-On 8300, July 2009. The funny part was that i had the same xbox from a friend BEFORE i bought my and he had Lite-On 8300 july 2009 and its was 2009-08-23. I could not get the key and dummy.bin. I could not flash it. But i flashed mine?

quote taken from a game (think of it as microsoft saying it) "I have made this sacrifice for the greater good"
Microsoft has thier new hardware that is like a concrete wall for barrier against my florida hurricanes.
Knowing that the end of flashing is coming, is recommended that instead of pulling keys from drives, we must develop a non harmful/chip way of puling the key from the motherboard. The end is near and we need to think fast. I am no superprogrammer but know enough that the motherboard polls the drive key and compares it to the key it has, so if we can develope a program that nullifies the key so when it reads it and has a miscompare showing the real key, we can extract it from the motherboard then flash
words are easy, but the work of making a dream fly is hard

Exactly, there is always a way that the motherboard pulls the key from the drive, so in theory there is ALWAYS a way for us to get the key.
This is not the end of flashing... A new drive has started appearing, and as of right now there is no way to read the drive. This is/was the exact same case when the 83850c's started to show up...

im sorry but hopes are down because every bit and piece i used for flashing my 360 has gone dead.
I was 13 when i flashed my lit on and now im almost 14 and i have to spend another 30 bux to buy a ck3 lite to flash to 1.61
I have used logic and pondered ideas of how to get around this. A way i realized, but is not applicable for most people is to have an exploitable kernal and dump the key files, like nand.bin and all of that through gentoo linux exploit with winscp. theres a tutorial on that on xs
people used this to change their 360 region. But in our case, changing the dvd key may be the best way so far as i think. Those who want to j tag may be the lucky winners because if you run gentoo, change your key then ftp it back to your 360 then you can flash like a (777777777777777777777) key etc, you no longer have to worry about microsoft's brick wall because we have built a airplane that can fly over it.
EDIT*
I feel like an idiot because you cant write back without an infectus i think correct me if im wrong.
Maybe the jtag users will find away around this
