83850c and FF80

I have a liteon 83850c July 2009 from my elite jasper. I got the CK3 VIA 6421 PCI card and power from my computer PSU. I have read a ton of tutorials and info about flashing the drive and thought I would be ok flashing with VIA and liteon in JF without the drivers installed. I was wrong, the stupid thing would freeze up on me while writing to any of the banks. The one time i got it to start to write to the 4th bank and it froze and I couldn't get out of FF80.
I made a boot usb drive and have been running l-o-eras on the sata port for the last 3 days trying the many different theories for power cycling and command running to get this back to FF72 so i can flash the drive. I feel as though this is a lost cause and I have actually managed to brick a liteon. I have the key and made a custom firmware, so I can flash the drive as soon as I get out of FF80 and back to FF72.
I've been told there are many helpful and knowledgeable people on this site, so I am coming here as a final attempt to fix this before having to spend more damn money on this project.
Just a few more bits of info. I have tried this on multiple computers with the same VIA card with no other SATA devices connected and I have also tried it on each of those computers' on board sata ports and no devices connected without any luck. this is booted from a usb into dos using l-o-eras.
Lastly, a question... The sata port with my dvd drive on it reports back FF80 as soon as it is turned on, even after I turn it off and continue to run the command I get FF80. I have to reboot the PC inorder to clear that FF80 out. And I have tried just writing to the drive even though it says FF80 but I get a no ATAPI error when running dosflash.
