MS forcefully removes private chat from upcoming titles

Do you like to use the party chat option on your Xbox 360? Well, if you do, you may soon find yourself being forced out of using that option. Microsoft appears to be offering developers the option to negate the private chat option the Xbox 360 offers. Currently, players have the option of forming a private chat with players, but that will soon change.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will force players to decide whether or not they’ll play the game and join the game chat, or choose to stay in a private chat and not play in the multiplayer game. With titles like Gears of War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: World at War, and many other online based multiplayer titles, the private chat feature became a way of telling other players of enemy locations after being killed.

Such a feature shouldn’t detract from the overall online experience much, but there will surely be some gamers who won’t like the type of feature being implemented. With some gamers only using the private chat to talk to friends while playing different games, this will likely pose a problem for them.

That news bit is awfully confusing. They're removing private chat or party chat?

i think what they are saying
is they are going to stop any chat
that is outside of "game chat"

im sure they look at the open chat as a kind of cheating
it just kills me, that
they would do that
but
let all the rapid fire controller keep running

Yeah, honestly.. I always party up with friends to avoid having to listen to the 8 year olds screaming into their mics. Playing team deathmatch with instant respawn.. how is party chat hurting gameplay? COD4 has so much grenade spam we're too busy yelling expletives to each other to discuss enemy positions.. lol

After the feedback from Che at Turn 10 one of the devs from Forza 3 said they are trying to make Forza more sociable thus removing custom lobbies, Implementing Matchmaking instead to try and bring everyone together, Its caused mayhem on their forums so one may assume its MS idea for this and now what this says too it really does seem like they trying to make a bloomin games machine like Facebook etc etc, I personally dont want all that as I have it on PC as we all probs do, What on earth has/is happening to our beloved games machines guys, Whats it gonna be like in 5-10 year if this is what they upto now ? Its just stupid all of it. Trying to force gamers into socialising on a bloomin games console.
