Cannot see hitachi in Jungleflasher

Trying to flash a hitachi 59. Plugged everything in like usual, then ran JF 1.66 and no drive detected. At first I thought it might be my via card, had one go bad before. But then I hooked up an old 47 I had laying around and it sees it perfect. Is there any way to put the 47 into this unit without any data off the 59? Or any other ideas would be great. Thanks

I agree. I even told this guy about it and suggested he hold on. He still wants it because he never goes on live. He had it previously flashed a long time ago with 1.2 or something he wasn't sure. Could a bad flash make it invisible to my pc?

everyone doesn't necessarily go online so the ban wave shouldn't stop certain people from flashing. and everyone knows the risk. basically saying support shouldn't stop. . .

ight, well if you hooked up another drive to it and it worked then your set up is good. just keep going at it, got to be aggressive with those drives. i say keep going at it with slax till it recognizes it.

Slax huh? Ok I'll give that a go. Let you know what's up with it.

No deal. Slax couldn't see it to put it in mode b either. You can't just throw another hitachi in a different machine without the key can you?

gotta go to control panel.....then device manger...and scan for new hardware...this allows the computer to find the dvd drive

That's one thing I didn't try yet. I was ready to box it up and give it back, I'll definitely try that first.

open up the tray send the mode b command in jf then it will search for hardware changes maybe it will pick it up if it doesnt and this happens to me i open up the tray using jf the button right under send mode b. then send the mode b command again then it will search for hardware changes and it should pick up your drive.

Tried all that. Just concluded that whoever flashed this guy's shit before did something f'd up. Gave it back to him, no hard feelings.

I used to have trouble getting my rig to find Hitachi's - until I started using the little black SATA cable out of the 360 itself, rather than the standard PC SATA cable. Now it sees them first time, every time.

Good idea. I might just call that guy back just to try it out.Been tinkerin with this gosh damn Dell tryin to put aftermarket parts in it. Got it for free though. Can't complain too much.
