Impossible to restore lite-on's they have no OFW, dummy.bin is not the true OFW.
There is no way to get the OFW, if your restoring due tot he bans, that will not help. If your restoring so you can send your box in, you can send it in flashed, it'll be fine.

There is no way to restore LITE-ON drives so no you do not need to restore to update....Never trully an update either as your erasing and flashing the drive again...updating implies that your changing part of the Firmware.
