83850c problem

Hi, I've been looking through some of the previous posts regarding JF freezing at the write stage for a 83850c drive. I've tried the Iprep v009 method but I cannot get it to load the 1.6 liteon 83850c firmware (no valid firmware loaded), even when I load the ixdef file and I have also tried the Iprep v10.7 method, got my litcfw.bin file and loaded into the backups\1234567\12345 folder, booted into dos and tried flit 1234567 12345 but it gives the 'Bad command or file name' error.

I watched Cofree's video and I remember having to do something like this before for a Liteon but for the earlier firmware version but I just can't seem to find the neccesary files to do it via Dosflash and use l-o-eras.exe for the current drive.

Is using dosflash and l-o-eras.exe a good method and if so, could someone please let me know how to make a boot disk with these files or let me know where I'm going wrong with the other methods?

I would be eternally grateful and thanks in advance for any help.

hi you need to put your firmware in the back up folder like always but with 10.7 you just put 1234567 12345 w and it should go straight to flash stage and write your firmware i assume you want to upgrade

Hi,

I'm updating the firmware from stock to 1.6 and ran into the problem with JF. I have the backup firmware in backups\1234567\12345 and the firmware in this folder is 'litcfw.bin' and I created this through JF from the dummy.bin etc. These are the files/folders I have on my USB pen:

BACKUPS
CFW
AGREE.txt
Dosflash
Info
Iopts.cfg
Iprep
L83
Litetool

Does this look correct?

I have the litcfw.bin file in BACKUPS\1234567\12345 and in the CFW Folder I have L83CFW.bin

When I type flit 1234567 12345 it comes up with the Bad Command error.
Sorry for misunderstanding but are you saying I should type 1234567 12345 w instead? And just to be double sure, is this at the point I agree to the T's&C's for Iprep and it has the l83 xxxxxxx xxxxx question? Also the drive has already been erased through JF.

Thanks for replying.

if your flashing from stock boot in to dos with your iprep v10.7 and agree to the terms if its the 8 SERIES type L8 WHAT IT SAYS ABOVE YOU I KNOW THE 7 SERIES IS L74 1234567 12345 OR WHAT EVER YOUR BACK UP DIGITITS ARE THEN JUST FOLLOW THE ON SCREEN INSTRUCTIONS JUST MAKE SURE THE RS CABLE ISNT CONNECTED WITH THE 8 SERIES AND YOU DONT USE THE PROBE WITH 8 SERIES
