Want to back up Shift & GH:Metallica - Troubles

Hey guys,

Well I finally flashed my 360, as the old flashed one is dying on me. However, I cannot seem to back these games up with XBC v2.9 Build:0306, nor Schtrom360Xract4.1.
The boxes for backing up in XBC are greyed out (unlock drive, start etc), and Schtrom gives me an error 'cant read alt pfi'.

I've been searching for the last hour or so to no avail.

I shall look at that again but it was the first thing I looked at for help.
It's not just one computer, it was happening across 3 different ones.

Cheers for the help, will report back either way.

EDIT:
The 'unlock drive' button is still greyed out, the same as before, which I expected as I followed your tutorial when I tried it for the first time.
The drive works for burning DL xbox iso's.

Ahh crud, you know what I'm doing which I think is the issue here...
I'm trying to use the DVD player in the computer to 'rip' the image, by the looks of things I should hook up the 360 DVD drive right ? oh crap, sorry

Also may I add !

This console is not intended to be used on Xbox Live, this is just my spare one connected to my PC monitor.
I just wanted to rip a game via my laptop, burn it, and play it on my semi broken but flashed 360 (ix161-benq).
I see that WXRipper isn't any good for wave 4 it would seem ?

I'll grab another 360 at Christmas for playing online\demo's etc.
