Hi

Need some advice with a locked liteon 7series, basically i was using jungleflasher i trhe drive locked up after trying to do the liteon-erase. I have now been trying for a couple of days to get the drive going again by following cofree's video and other tutorials, but whenever i try to do the l-o-erase the drive returns either a status FFFF or 7F, i have also tried to use the technique with iprep 10.7 putting my CFW in the 1234567\12345 folders etc but it returns invalid command so not sure if im doing this right. I do have the key from the liteon its just a matter of getting it to write again i imagine??

Help appreciated!

Regards

I logged in tonight to ask a very similar question. I was trying to upgrade my firmware from 1.5 to 1.6 for my Lite-On. I was using Jungle Flasher and even though I had uninstalled the drivers for my VIA, the PC I was using still locked up when the erase command was sent to my drive. This has happened to me once before so I tried following CoFree's video tutorial, but every time I use the l-o-eras.exe command I get a message showing that my drive's status is FF80. I'm not sure what my next step to fix this problem should be.

Kazit, sorry to hijack your thread like this, but since we're in the same situation I was hoping you wouldn't mind.

Is using the iprep 009 method not the same as using the method with iprep 10.7, i.e with l-o-erase etc?

Use dosflash I never got my drive fixed from that tutorial. Open jf load your dummy then your hacked fw and spoof source then save as liteon.bin on your formated usb and place dosflash. Make sure you have all ports disabled and disconnect your cd drives. Keep your drive off turn on your pc then turn on your drive and type in dosflash and press the number you see the drive if its under 8 then press 8. press w then type in liteon.bin and it should erase and flash. You might have to do it twice, I did.

The tut that Cofree did is DOSFLASH ....That is the only reliable way to recover the drive sorry that I forgot to mention it but there is only one tut here to recover lite-on and I thought it was obvious.

I've followed CoFree's guide in the past to fix a buddy's locked lite-on and it worked perfectly, but this time it doesn't. Every time I use the l-o-eras command my drive's status comes back as FF80. The main reason I'm posting this is because I'm wondering if something could be wrong with my SATA card, esp. since I tried it again earlier today and discovered that even when my drive isn't powered on I still get a status message of FF80.

Hi ya I have done 2 liteons now and all I do is skip the 1st part and start from

dosflash (no i-o-eras)

n to resend,

tell drive number I use diff drive to find out the number if you dont already know it

then erase

And then back from the start but do the write this time

I know this sound hard to belive but works great for me.

Hope this helps good luck

I always have to write l-o-eras.exe xxxx(portnumber) 4 times. After 2 times turn the drive off for 1-2 seconds
then type l-o-eras.exe xxxx for another 2 times and you shall se that after the 4 time it´s FF72
Done that for about 50+ LiteOn´s.Thanks to Coffree and a old Dos guide with a Iprep samsung modified with some LiteOn
stuff.It should be a video-guide here somewhere ´cause I found it here.
