for the life of me i cant get my usb to boot up in dos! jungleflasher 1.67 locked up my lite on. followed cofree's video but he has an earlier version of iprep. run iprep, format H: drive (which is my usb thumbdrive), get an error message drive not ready!(got it 1 time without the error but still no luck) am i supposed to do it in fat32 or just fat? same with dosflash when i put it on my usb thumbdrive, fat or fat32? restarted computer, went into bios, put my removable devices #1, and it wont boot off of my thumbdrive! am i missing some file? do i have to download ixdef for 9 even tho i have 10.7? i hope someone has a solution cuz im almost bald! running windows xp 32 bit

thx

I had problems like this. My bios did not support booting from usb. You should try a different usb port, like maybe one on the back of your pc. If that doesnt work you can always install a third party boot manager like I had to do. I use plpbt-5.0.4. Google it.

All you have to do is download the program, extract it with winzip, and read the text documents that come with it. It will tell you what to do from there. I chose to burn a bootable cd and install it that way.

If something like this is too complicated for you, you would be better off letting somone flash your drive for you. Its just basic computer skills involved. Im not trying to offend you or anything, but its just not everybodys bag ya know? Have you considered jungleflasher? You dont need to boot from usb with that app because its windows based. Check out the tutorials section on the site here, great stuff.

ok I assume you have a via card, with drivers uninstalled and disabled. You dont need to use Iprep. Try out dosflash32. get your drive in vendor mode and make sure you know wht sata port its on. open up dosflash32, it should detect your drive if you select the sata port its connected to. Hit the erase drive button. Then click on write, it will ask you to open a file. Select the Lite-CFW.bin that you previously built using jungleflasher and proceed to write it. That should do it.

what you need is the dummy.bin for your liteon. Open up jf load ur dummy.bin to the source buffer. Then load your ixtreme to the Target buffer and hit the spoof button. Once it spoofs, on the right side of the open window you will see a save to file button. Go ahead and save it. It will automatically be called Lite-CFW.bin. Then hook up your drive like I said before and get it in vendor mode. open up dosflash32, and select the right sata port, It wont give any info because the drive is probably half erased, but it will see the drive and give the option to erase. Do that, and then click write, and open up the Lite-CFW that you saved in JF.

Just to let you know you have to get the drive in vendor mode before opening up dosflash32. To do this pwer up your drive, eject it fully, power it off, then close it halfway, and then power it on again, then open dosflash32.

Yea, you have to delete the driver, not uninstall it. First go to device manager and find your via card and disable it. Then go to c:windows/system32/drivers and find viamraid.sys and delete it. Then go to your task manager and enable the via card again. At this point it should have an exclamation point next to it. Thats what we want. Reboot your pc and make sure it still has the exclamation next to it in task manager, if it does follow my previous steps.
