HDDHACKR problem

Post by paintguy84 »

Ok so I have everything setup. I boot to dos via usb and start the hddhckr program. Everything is working, it detects my drive. When i go to dump my hddss.bin I get an error and It tells me that my path to where I want to dump it to is write protected. Have any of you guys had this problem with a bootable usb stick?

I actually had a similar problem but it involved installing windows 7, not hddhackr, but is essentially the same problem. Basically you need to make sure your bios is using Legacy mode for all devices. If you don't have a legacy mode look for some type of backward compatibility mode. Then make sure the only two devices you have attached to your pc are the usb stick and the hdd you want to dump/flash.
