Re: Hardware Failure or DVD-ROM Drive?
Just to let you know Sess, when I did the x-clamps on yours, I used AS5 for the thermal compound. Thats not saying that it couldn't have lost its vescosity and hardened up, but in that short amount of time, its doubtful. I didn't realize it was fixed recently so maybe its not the paste I used ceram...

Re: air to the bottom of the box?

Re: Hardware Failure or DVD-ROM Drive?
Hmm, well I was playing DBZ Burst Limit a couple days ago and it froze in mid game. I tried loading it up a couple times and the game would freeze during a fight each time. I thought maybe it was a bad burn so I tried my backup of GTA IV and it froze as well. I redid this a couple times and it woul...

Re: air to the bottom of the box?
i think you will disturb the channel of the air flow as you are suppose to keep the air flow in one direction for maximum cooling. thought adding the fan on the bottom and top may help and help but possibly not by much and if the bottom is getting hot then if you add the fan at the bottom then you ...

Re: another BenQ 0xFF / 0x7f
that was a quick response!! much appreciated. I'm not at the comp right now; at work ATM. So I can't check the controller. I do remember I had a few diff options in iprep and 2 or 3 said they were MTK and dos flash compatible. I'll try building another boot w/ the other devices and try dos flash tha...

another BenQ 0xFF / 0x7f
I did read the other posts with similar issues. I'm using a gigabit mobo on XP. I have flashed the Hit drives using slax w/this board in the past, so the SATA can work When booting iprep from USB I get either 0xFF > which I understand means its not reading it, or I get 0x7F : I'm not sure what that ...
