im not 100% sure on that , i would think you need 2 liteon's , I never tried with a different type of drive

I had a similar problem , what I needed to do is get myself a working drive (out of a friends box) and when trough the "unlock liteon drive" steps. With the working drive I did l-o-eras and got my FF72 status , after that I did dosflash (still with the new drive) , during the dosflash righ...

I have try this and its done nothing for me , I still get "play dvd" no matter what backup I put in

it does not play original games ether , it does play movies

I just flashed the firmware on my liteon 83 and whenever I put a backup it just says "play dvd" , im 99.9 % sure I dind't mix up the dvd key on the drive , its the only liteon 83 I have. I tried the flash multiple times using Iprep and its always successful but still no luck with the games...

So i fixed my problem , what I needed to do is boot into dos with usbkey done with iprep and run l-o-eras with a drive that currently works fine. then when I ran dosflash , when I got to the step when I had to select what I wanted to do (w-write / e-erase ect..) I swap the working drive with my lock...

Still no luck , I treid unplugging it and leaving sit for a few minutes but I still can't get past status FF80

I tried send the l-o-eras command mutliple times and it never changes the status

I have tried unlocking it by booting into dos with iprep using l-o-eras.exe but I can't get the status to FF72 , its always at FF80

I flashed my liteon drive using JF (firmware 1.6) and following the video tutorial found here done by Shootsteel (excellent video) , when I get to the last step which is to hit the outro / ata reset and the flash is finished.
