Region Free Games ?

Post by Digital Menace »

i noticed xbc rips some games to region free, but other games are just rippd ntsc as the discs are.

anyone know why ? are some games just locked and xbc can't make em region free ?

and then others aren't and it makes them region free...

i think thats right...

No. Games are developed as region free, ntsc, or pal. Region free will play on any box, pal is basically one side of the world and ntsc is the other. Not sure exactly where the boundaries are.

i know man, but what i'm asking is why xbc rips certain games RF and then others it rips them NTSC as they should be cuz they are NTSC.

that's my question. lol

all the 360 games i have are NTSC of course, but what i'm saying is some of them are ripped region free by xbc.

I honestly can't answer that. I've never noticed that happening.

because some game are region free.
if it a region free game then xbc rips it that way.
if it a ntsc then it comes out that way.

you can not make a ntsc or pal region free.
it has to be region free from the start.

oh i see cofree, so then some games i buy are region free ?

i never knew that, i thought games you buy in america/japan are all ntsc.

that's weird that some are region free ? hmm...

i thought every game you buy is either ntsc or pal, i never knew you could buy games that are region free on disc.

i guess you learn something new everyday lol.

Don't feel bad Jman. You both were right. For the sake of anyone else that may be confused about this,

XBC only rips what it sees. It doesn't rip any game to any specific region, unless the game was already that way. In other words, if you buy a game and rip it, and XBC reports it as region free, that happens to be how the original game is. If your curious about how many games there are that are region free, do a google search for Xbox 360 Region Compatibility List. You should be able to find a list of games and their region coding.

I was always interested to know why some game rips had regions and others didn't...I also thought it had something to do with the rip...now I know!
