Replacing same drive

Hello all,

I have a problem. I have bought a new dvd drive. It is the same model and all but my wife through out my old drive before I could get the key. I have other firmwares for the same model. My question is can I flash with other firmware eventhough its not the oringinals? What can I do if not? I spen 50$ on the drive and need it to play games. It plays dvd's but not games. Any help, as always is appreciated.

you MUST have your orig key.
there are places you can get a copy of the orig firmware that was in your drive,but only you would have your key.
you would get a copy of the drive firmware use firmware toolbox to insert your key then flash it in the drive.

if you dont have your key at all.
im sorry to say it over man.
you have a dvd player thats all.
