360 Makes Beeping Sound ?

i've had my 360 for a few months now and it has beepd at me 2 or 3 times.

it just beeped now while i was playing gears.

i looked around on the net an have seen mixed answers and explanations, from could be early rrod sign to where others say beeps all the time an nothing has happend.


do you guys have any thoughts on this ?

has your 360 done this ?


i'm just curious if theres anything i should do.

no never heard of it, when in the game did it happen. it is a possibility that the xbox is getting really hot and its warning you about the rrod as you said so it may b just a guess. see what others say

yea it does happen though, i've also read it happens to launch systems aswell as the falcons.

i have a falcon, when it happend before i thought nothing of it an almost thought it was my pc lol.

but it isn't, although it sounds just like a bios sound when you press too many keys down on the keyboard, that's exactly what it sounds like matter fact.

i guess i can't exactly pinpoint where on the 360 it's coming from, maybe the dvd drive or the board, or possibly the power supply ?

i have no clue as it doesn't happen often, but yea i'm just confused as to what it is an why it beeps.

From my experience it is from it getting too hot i have one on the glove box of my car and ive heard it beep. But since it now has a couple ez-cool fans i've not heard it since! Surly your 360 isn't in such an enclosed space though. Try making sure the air flow duct is mounted properly and clearing any dust it may have built up or maybe getting hold of a nyko intercooler?

ive never had mine do that.
if the console is getting that hot ,if you have not done the 12v fan mod the fans should have stepped up to 12v and should be very loud.

if it is getting that hot.
do anything to cool it down,that is to damn hot

The first 360 I eve owned did that about a month before it went RROD. Not saying that it was a sign of RROD because I don't know if the two are related. Could be just a glitch in reading the software or something. The two 360's that I have now have never done it. (I need to find some wood to knock on real fast here before I jinx me self.)

yeah i'm not sure, i mean i don't think it was too hot when it did it cuz i don't think i was playing for maybe longer than half hour or maybe an hour but yea it's only done it a few times, of course the 360 seems to get hot almost right away.

should i get some sort of external fan ? an where should i put it ?

i don't think i have the skill or guts to attempt a 12v fan mod.

the thing with the 12v fan mod is have the parts out of the 360
fans and the cord that goes from the mobo to the dvd drive.
do all the work and soldering with is out the put it back together.

ehh i think i could possibly do that, but i'm still kinda scared to mess with my dvd drive cable and then screw it up. lol

is there a how-to video for this ?

or any other alternatives cofree ?

there is a different place to get the 12v from.
the problem with the mobo spot is its hot all the time.
you would have to unplug your 360 for the fan to stop

that is why i use the dvd drive 12v.
i have a good many out there and everything is fine so far

next time i order i going to give the whisper max fan a try.
it still get its power from the dvd drive.

this is driving me crazy! i have been randomly hearing beeps when playing, but thought nothing of it.. however i today set up streaming video from my pc and when playing video its beeping like every 15-20 seconds

did anyone find out any more info on this?

its driving me absolutely mental!

its impossible to watch streaming stuff on it, as all you are constantly waiting for the beep

this guy seems to think its the DVD drive, I have a benq drive.. does anyone know where the speaker is in the drive as I'm gonna rip it out if I can find it!
