The original Saints Row from 2006 was an exercise is drug use, highly suggestive sexual themes and other grown-up pastimes.
So it wasn't too surprising when a video (see below, via GameTrailers) popped up of a naked woman streaking in the upcoming Saints Row 2.
But will games industry critics jump on the M-rated game like they have with countless other titles?
"In terms of backlash from the game's content, we are not too concerned," said Craig Mitchell with THQ media relations.
"THQ and [Saints Row developer] Volition have worked within the guidelines of the ESRB and the international ratings boards and the game has been rated appropriately.
"In the U.S., it is rated M for mature. In addition, Saints Row 2 has a very over-the-top tone and the activities like streaking play into that.
"In streaking, the character's front is blurred out, plus, all the characters were made 'asexual' so even a possible mod/hack would not reveal anything."
Saints Row 2 features an in-depth character customization system that allows users to create nude male or female characters, complete with frontal blur.
In the game, streaking is activated by pressing down twice on the controller's d-pad, at which point players are told to "Streak closely to as many people as possible!" A good streak will earn "Respect" stats.
The ESRB's content descriptors for the game that will be on Saints Row 2's packaging include Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Sexual Content, Strong Language and Use of Drugs.
Saints Row 2 launches on October 14 in North America.
