ok so ive used firmwarre toolbox to spoof my hitachi firmware into a samsung firmware. i cant flash the hitachi using firmtoolbox everytime i try it says cannot communicate with drive. so i want to use c4eva's flashix but i would have to rename the spoofed firmware and place it in the file where flashix can find it. ive extracted the fw rar that came with flasix but there are a number of versions of fw for the same drive. in the read me file it says
Here are the full hacked versions of all fw
XX.bin is original
XX_16-?x.bin is Hacked (Media detect 2.0)
XX_16s.bin is Hacked and Firwmare STEALTH (Media detect 2.0)
so im assuming that i would rename my spoofed firmware to read 47_16s.bin and replace that .bin file with the spoofed bin file. am i right on this or ami missing something.
thanks
hitachi to samsung
Re: hitachi to samsung
you need to restore the hitachi drive back to stock before you flash it again.. it's the same with all hitskennethc81 wrote:ok so ive used firmwarre toolbox to spoof my hitachi firmware into a samsung firmware. i cant flash the hitachi using firmtoolbox everytime i try it says cannot communicate with drive. so i want to use c4eva's flashix but i would have to rename the spoofed firmware and place it in the file where flashix can find it. ive extracted the fw rar that came with flasix but there are a number of versions of fw for the same drive. in the read me file it says

after the restore you can dump & flash with the latest firmware

Re: hitachi to samsung

Re: hitachi to samsung
no the hitachi is spoofed to a sumsung the hitachi hasnt been flashed so i dont need to do the restore i just need to know where i put the spoofed firmware so that flashix will flash my hitachi with the spoofed firmware. so the keys will be switched and i can put the hitachi in the samsung console. thanks
Re: hitachi to samsung
if it's been spoofed my friend it has been flashed - even if it's not running iXtreme the firmware has still been re-written.. in which case you will have to restore the original firmware - u can't cross flash hitskennethc81 wrote:no the hitachi is spoofed to a sumsung the hitachi hasnt been flashed so i dont need to do the restore i just need to know where i put the spoofed firmware so that flashix will flash my hitachi with the spoofed firmware. so the keys will be switched and i can put the hitachi in the samsung console. thanks

follow the tut... it's accurate
(return it to stock, build the hacked firmware, re-apply the spoof & flash) ***always keep a backup of your key***

you need to go into detail what you are doing and what you think you should do.
when you start spoofing drives you can brick one in a hurry.

Re: hitachi to samsung
ok the whole misunderstanding was i was working with the dumped original firmware files the only thing i did was spoof the original firmware files i never applied it to any drives im just messing around trying things i have about 5 drives sitting around so why not.
