Flashing to iXtreme v1.4
Flashing to iXtreme v1.4
I flashed my drive to v1.3 using iPrep, and I'm planning on using iPrep to update again. Do I need reflash back to my original firmware first, or can I just flash the same way I did the first time. Thanks.
Re: Flashing to iXtreme v1.4
you can flash right over the old v1.3
its alot like the sam drives
just do a dump that will get your key firmtool/samtool will run and build you a new hacked bin then flash.as long as you kept your orig you dont have to reboot.you can go strait to the flashing
after samtool runs just look there on the page to see the key looks good

Re: Flashing to iXtreme v1.4
sorry, didnt feel like starting another thread... i still have my benq-ix and orig.bin files on my flash drive, along with dosflash. you think i should just use iprep or what would you do? im afraid iprep isnt going to work for me because i've actually never used it. 5.3b i used whatever was out before iprep, and with the benq i used dosflash16... i do have the orig backed up in a few places so i can format the usb drive.
Re: Flashing to iXtreme v1.4
iprep should work fine for you Brandon. Just go at it like its a stock drive. Just make sure that you have your stock firmware safely tucked away, but it sounds like that you do
Also make sure to update your definition files. Should be able to do that through iprep though.

Re: Flashing to iXtreme v1.4
well i just tried to dump my BenQ and it wasnt working with me. i had my xbox off, typed in the command, typed yes, turned on my drive, status went right to ..x80 and then just sat there. i tried it a couple times. then i tried leaving my xbox on until it says to make sure its off, turned it off, typed y, turned it back on, it read the 4 Banks but samtool never came up. so now im going to try to make the usb drive with XP. be right back.
Re: Flashing to iXtreme v1.4
if it read the 4 banks, look in the /backup/7digitserial/5digitserial/ folder and see if it wrote the firmware. If it did, check it with firmware toolbox. It probably didn't write it since samtool didn't come up though.

yeah i went ahead and checked it, its there and it opened in 360toolbox. bunch of random numbers and letters, so i guess it read it. i had a dual boot on my computer so i just installed the via drivers on my xp partition so i'll try it on xp and see how it goes.
Re: Flashing to iXtreme v1.4
if that vista computer has a sata drive of any kind hooked up samtool WILL NOT start.you have to unhook all the sata drivessccrbrandon4788 wrote:well i just tried to dump my BenQ and it wasnt working with me. i had my xbox off, typed in the command, typed yes, turned on my drive, status went right to ..x80 and then just sat there. i tried it a couple times. then i tried leaving my xbox on until it says to make sure its off, turned it off, typed y, turned it back on, it read the 4 Banks but samtool never came up. so now im going to try to make the usb drive with XP. be right back.
