on whats going to happen to the people whove played gears online today with people that have 'supposedly' got their copies a day early because of play.com and amazon im thinking microsoft released gears 2 onto pirate sites because they knew people with flashed drives would definatley get it therefore giving microsoft the data it needs to ban every flashed console.

ive been checking the xbox forums constantly and apparentley still no-ones got the game from a pre ordered website.

ive deleted as much as i can from my microsoft billing websites before hitting a wall and ive created a new gamer tag which hasnt got gears 2 in the history although i have my suspicions that theyll be able to log serial numbers some-how and be able to ban it from either that or your ip adress

1- So long as your playing an ORIGINAL on a NON Modified console then you have nothing to worry about.

2- BUT if you using a MODIFIED console then every update M$ drop will always be a pain, because we all know the risks b4 we flashed drives.

3- Also remember it's NOT your Gamertag that gets banned its the Consoles Serial Number(Console itself)!!!!!!!!

(1+2+3=) Which is why only my non-modded gets used for online gaming, although i will connect occasionaly for game updates on the modded one, but thats still risking a ban everytime i do that.

you can't blame ms after all generally they make losses on the consoles, but get it back through the publishing deals.....
therefore it means that for them to make money people have to buy the originals.

so on that basis why not ban everyone who has the ABILITY to be basically defrauding them............

true but i feel pretty violated, like im not in control of my own identity, the only reason i flashed my console was because i couldnt afford games because i lost my job because people like microsoft have moved all their work to countries where they dont have to pay a minimum wage, i know that doesnt make it right but i do think its a very grey area and most people in the same predicament probably feel the same way.

i never flashed mine myself it was offered to me (i was actually unaware it was possible) and who else with no money would be like 'nahhh mate id rather get games legit and struggle to pay my bills', thats not a justification, i know im the one in the wrong for having a game i didnt obtain legally i just think microsofts grip on its own users seems a little bit tight. seriously try and delete a credit card completley from there billing site, its absolutley impossible if youve got your card details associated to any gamertag you are effectivley microsofts property for the rest of your life.

all im saying is its different tactic than theyve used before, they just used to rely on people burning bad copies but this copy of gears was copied and stealthed correctly so they duped everyone into thinking loads of people would be online playing it when really only the modded community was likley to be on live and so long as they set their matchmaking onto locale only theyd only be matched up with modded xboxs and other xbox staff, its a shame though. most people would love a massive collection of legit games but due to companies like them outsourcing jobs to india cant afford it cos theyre out of work because everyone who works for this billion dollar company gats paid about the equivalent of £80 a week which is shitloads to them but youd have to pay double over here and america, its just a classic case of the rich controlling the poor. and i dont think theres much law surronding it to protect people.

what you are saying is, if you dont have the money for something then its ok to take it without paying for it.
we have said it many times we dont support anyone downloading games for any reason(sorry)
i fill for you man and know what its like to be in a spot where money is hard to get.

now on that point your are right.
i think the fact its so hard to remove your self from there computer is wrong.
you can always with draw your consent to keep your info but they make it all but impossible to get your information off there site.
