there have been people banned that did that very thing.
if you flash your drive and play a bad backup then flash back stock
they can still see the log of the bad game you played.

i have read that others flash there dvd drive back to stock and send it in for repair and they did fix it
others said M$ just sent it back without fixing it.

i've sent one off with IXtreme and it's come back to me all shiny and new (stock of course )

I wouldn't send it unless you really have to now days though, they come back with them nasty lite-ons in

the new firmware for the lite-on is not out
if you send it in you will get a lite-on dvd drive back from M$

i dont think they will care as long as you send it in with stock firmware.
but in the end its up to you.

i do think there will be a lite-on fix soon.
now im not saying what kind of fix it will be ,but i think it will be soon.
