Hi,
yesterday I tried to spoof a hitachi 0047dj into a sammy ms28, I got up to the part where it says to 'At this point, it will ask you to insert a DVD movie or an original 360 game. Once you do(give it a few sec to spin up), click ok' but when I inserted the game it would spin up and then eject so I held it in and then tried flashing it got up to halfway on the part in the guide where it says 'You will see the blue line running across the screen while it is flashing' and then it gave an error and when I pressed ok on the error it froze the pc had to turn it off and now the drive wont function at all, it wont open, cant get it into mode b, so is it bricked? The guide i used for spoofing was this one by cofree viewtopic.php?f=110&t=857" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. also the hitachi drive was flashed beffore hand normally but i restored before I spoofed it. any help is appreciated.

Spoof gone wrong
Re: Spoof gone wrong
man
you are going to have to start taking your time.
you should not have to do stuff like that.
after it was doing odd stuff you should have posted then.
after the fact,we are now doing damage control instead of trying to get it to work right.
ok
if you are trying to spoof a hit dvd drive into a sam console.
you need the key from the samsung firmware and your hit hack firmware.
this is the guide.
viewtopic.php?f=110&t=857" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
but if you are having trouble the first thing is to get the hit dvd drive back in modeB and do a restore.
get the hit dvd drive back to stock
then we can start over new.
you are going to have to start taking your time.

Re: Spoof gone wrong
At the time I was really p****d off with it as it was e74 and just tried to spoof the drive for the craic. But as I said before it wont go into mode b, im using the 360 to power it and when I turn it on to try and put it in mode b the power symbol continuosly flashes as if theres no drive in it. Ive tried every method to get it into mode b and none of them work the resistor trick, slax disc got to the point where it says spinning up disk but since you cant eject to get to the next step it wont go in mode b like that either. Any suggestions?
Re: Spoof gone wrong
the only other thing to try is a kit
like this.
http://www.modchip.ca/store/product.php ... 284&page=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
if that wont get it in modeB
i dont know of anything that will.

Re: Spoof gone wrong
Try the win app for Mode_B // it works i've used it on several v79's

if you succeed with getting into mode b come back to ussource: http://team-xecuter.com/ck3/downloads.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Mode_B 0.4 inc New PortIO32 (DOS & Windows) - 1001 Downloads
Puts ALL Hitachi's (inc 78 & 79) into Modeb without a Slax bootdisc or any other hardware hacks.
Thanks to Podger & Lahey for the PortIO32 auto installer !

Re: Spoof gone wrong
I had a 47dj die on me halfway through a flash using FWToolbox as well....
Apparently, the safest way to do the older hit's is with with the batch files that come with the firmware. Like yourself, I found this out after I had tried to flash it
At least you should have a good key saved if you've got to that point. One of cofree's videos in the tutorial section shows this method...

And if at first you don't succeed..? Order the damn card!

Re: Spoof gone wrong
I do have a good key from a time before when I flashed it, but in relation to the app for mode b it doesnt work for me on this particular drive. I believe this drive is bricked. I think it happened when I pushed in the drive when it tried to eject because it has opened since that moment, im not sure what to do with this one?

Re: Spoof gone wrong
the flashing procedure for the hits is quite different to the other drives, rather than rewrite the entire firmware, it just edits the commands it needs. This is good in one way, because it means the drive can be restored to an original state.
It's bad in another (this case), because if the drive is cut off halfway through a flash (and the commands get totally removed instead of edited) than there is no way bar desoldering the flash chip and reprogramming it on a Willem...
I think you may have bricked it, especially if you can 't get it to open or go in mode-b with a connectivity kit
