taking a nxe updated hdd drive too a spoofed liteon

Post by chris.redfield »

Hello everyone..

i have in my possession 2 box's

box #1 ;) : is a spoofed liteon with a sam ms48 (un-nxe'd)

box#2 :) : Non spoofed original liteon with the new nxe update.

ok so box#2 had the update done with my one and only (on a budget here) HDD Drive. This drive contained of course my gamer tag and my saves for my games.

The question arises as i contemplate attaching the update nxe HDD drive back on my spoofed liteon.
Should I
A: attach the drive and preform the update with the sam ms48 in the belly?
OR
B: attach the original liteon drive into the spoofed sam ms48 and update it to that console and then just swap drives after the update?

I was thinking that MicroS would consider that people will still take there hard drive out and take them to friends houses so would the HDD drive containing the update already update that new system when attached; or will that new person need to do the update anyway?? hmmm

I will go through with option B and write back as to my findings. whether the update will just show up (being that it is on the HDD drive) or that i will need to plug into live and update it again ( though that would be odd meaning every time you transfer your HDD to another box you would need to have it register to that box)
hmmm...
I just love Micros they always put a smile on my face :D .. OH like having a netflix account and having the pay for a gold membership to even use it over there services, cheap skates......

i would get a mem card for the console without a HD and do the update on it.

Option B worked with no problem...

I installed the original liteon and did the update with no sweat as should be then just swapped the sam ms48 back in..
good to go...

I use the other un modded box for getting on live and streaming over my wireless network pictures and movies that i play over the pc...

all is well and ends well.

thank cofree for you advice on a mem card....

can't see the logic in this myself .. sorry
if the drive could be detected during the update then it's most likely it can be detected any other time.

shouldn't make any difference which way you do it - on that bombshell, personally I would go with the simplest option ;)
