Bad Graphics/E74 Error

Post by gjh »

Hi folks,
Got a 360 which had an E74 error which i applied the X clamp fix using 2 washers per side, seemed to fix fault for a while, then got some bad graphics and later e74 error so i redone xclamp fix with 2 washers one side and 1 washer the other side, worked for a while again, now getting bad graphics occasionally and game freezing.
seen lots of different fixes, thought X clamp would have got rid altogether but hasnt. Are there any other fixes i could try.
Thanks for reading and sorry if posted in the wrong area
cheers

well man
if you did not put a heat gun on the chip you could try that.

used a hairdryer for a bit.
should i be concentrating just on the chip under the heatsink or some sites show guys putting a roll of coins on a different chip altogether.

most of us think its because they used leadless solder on the board.
after some hot/cold the small solder point under the "gpu" or/and "cpu" crack and stop working.

my buddy had a similar problem. i applied the xclamp and it still didnt work. but after trying the hot gun trick it worked fine for about 3 months. Using these methods are really touch and go from my experience. They are worth a shot before chuck her in the bin. there are other methods of getting a new replacement of the xbox that are legal but im sure i shouldn't discuss them in the threads
