Christmas List?
Christmas List?
So yea a couple of days ago my mom and dad said "You need to make a list so that we know what to look for you for Christmas". The question is i really don't know what i want for Christmas. I know that i really want a PS3 but they said that is was way to much. Anyone have any ideas on some new gadgets that are coming out or something that is a need to get item. Can't wait to see what people put here.
Re: Christmas List?
I was thinking about that or just a surround Sound Set for Gaming. Does anyone in here have surround sound and if you do what tpe of manufacture is it?
Re: Christmas List?
I have a really old surround sound. It was one of the fist 5.1 systems that I can remember seeing. Its a Zenith and it works great.

Re: Christmas List?
I asked the wife to get me one of those wd tvs that western digital recently released (very similar to popcorn hour). I wanted to keep my 360 hooked up to my computer monitor so I needed something to play all my xvid and other video files on my tv(mks container, h.264, etc). The nice thing about it is that I just threw all my stuff on an external hd, plug it into the wd tv, and start watching. This thing plays almost anything (at least all the popular formats I know most use). now it'll also be my Blu-Ray player
Not too shabby for $99...

If you are not a huge audiophile and want something simple, yet effective, I don't think you can go wrong with a "home theater in a box" type of package. I mean I could tell you to get a nice receiver and then some speakers, but some of the packages they have now are not bad at all, especially for the avg user. You also get a nice bit for your money. I was picking up some stuff for the wife the other day in Wal-Mart, so I decided to go look around in electronics. I spotted a Panasonic home theater package for around $250. It has 5 disc upconverting dvd player, ipod dock (throws the ipod menu up on your screen), hdmi, dts, and 1000 watts just to name a few (although to be honest, I always find the wattage rating to be a tad over-realistic). Not bad at all for that price range. I looked it up and it got good reviews. The model number I was looking at was SC-PT660.nxdragon wrote:I was thinking about that or just a surround Sound Set for Gaming. :edit: I just saw a link to J & R where they have it for $199. Hard to beat that price...

Anyway, I hope this helps.
