some noob questions about lite-on drive flashin

i am absolutely new to this so go easy on me . from what i understand take 360 apart > take dvd drive out > connect to pc > run program to flash. is that correct? and what exact cables to i need to connect my 360 lite-on drive to the pc? I plan on following cofree's tutorial where he mentions i need a rs232 and some sort of connection kit. are these things i can just buy at some place like best buy? and are all connection kits the same or do i need a certain one? also he mentions i need the 1.5 firmware. is the "firmware toolbox v4.7" under the programs section the same thing? if not where can i get the 1.5 firmware? is there anything else i need to know about my pc to make sure this runs smoothly? or can i just get thhose cables, connect my drive to my pc and follow cofree tut and i shouldnt have any problems? sorry, its just the first time i've done any sort of modding and don't wanna "bad word" up my 360 as i probably won't be able to get another one. much thanks in advance.

you will need a rs232 male/female cable like this

this is the ck3 pro that i use.if you want to get the probe so you will not have to solder that is fine.

no you will not find any of this stuff at best buy or any retail store.

no firmware toolbow is not any thing you will need at all.

you will get the ix1.5 lite-on firmware from x-bins
here is what you will need.you can get banned from here so dont frat around. just get the one file you need and leave.

doing this kind of stuff there is always a chance of something going wrong.
keep in mind that as of now we are all ok playing on live but they can ban you fro doing this if they find a way to catch you.
if its a lite-on there is no going back to stock.

cofree need to know where to what exact points to solder just orderd the ck3 lite....

cant find it anywhere on forums.... by the way awsome video tut on lite very easy to understand its what made me by the kit and try a lite-on i want the challenge!
