Replace Benq Drive with a Benq
Hey guys, with my problem that my Benq reads and plays original games with ease, however i play backups and i hear a terrible noise and grinding when i load up games and when i play them. So this weekend i am going to open up my drive and oil some parts- YAY! If that goes smoothly then thats my problem, if not then ill buy a new benq drive. I was wondering if i need to spoof the new drive or can i just insert the key and be done with it? The benq drive will be same model , however i am not sure what version fw it will be. I have many backups of my original fw and CFW, so i am well prepared, any ideas or support/advice would be nice.
P.S. Technology Rocks!
Thanks,

yes mate if its the same drive you can just flash it using iprep when you have dumped firmware and made hacked firmware open CFW from you usb stick in firmware toolbox then insert your key, save then flash as normal. no need to spoof it pal as its the same drive. spoofing is only so a different drive reports as the original.
Hope this helps

Re: Replace Benq Drive with a Benq
ive not heard of any benq giving trouble.
I would not use oil.i would use while lithium grease and dont get it on the laser
I dont think that is going to fix your problem.

Re: Replace Benq Drive with a Benq
I have a link here that shows another guy with the same problem, so i will try to see if there is a scratch on the laser, and then grease the rails, if not then i'll just buy a new drive and reflash.

yea
that laser is have a had time reading the disc for sure.
first i would flash in a slower speed firmware like 8x or maybe 5x
but
the load times will be longer.
has it always done that or just this last firmware.

Re: Replace Benq Drive with a Benq

before you get a new dvd drive is is worth just flash in 8x and see what it does.

Re: Replace Benq Drive with a Benq
alright, but i want to clean up my drive before, however do u remember me from x-projects forums- i was the one u helped out a little and then klutsh said i had a weak laser, cause original games are easier to read than backups.?

Re: Replace Benq Drive with a Benq
yea
the thing is it will not hurt to try 8x speed and it may just work fine for you.
no sure what that is about. The Backslash wrote:but i want to clean up my drive

well the ban should only last 24 hours.
you took to many file or the few files you took was to many mb.
