COM Port Not showing up. Help needed.

Post by DwFX »

 Alright, well, I bought a CK3 Lite, and a CK3 Probe, I followed the exact, and I mean EXACT tutorial on Team-Xecuter's website, and it got me nowhere. Everything is good, except the COM Port isn't showing up, on Jungle Flasher, or, Device Manager. I am using a 32 Bit Vista OS, so I know that can't be the issue, could anyone, anyone at all, help me out with this. Please? Thanks!! (Also, I installed all driver's, but after I hooked it up. I'm not sure if that's bad, but I thought that was the case, so I did a system restore, so the driver's aren't there. Then, installed them, then hooked up the CK3 Lite.)

No sir, it only show's two COM ports, both of which are connected to my Monitor, I tried hooking up the RS232 to the only extra port, which is a perfect fit, and then restarted my computer (to maybe see if it can recognize it, but NOPE, no luck, big surprise). It does not, show any other COM port's except the one's that are connected to my monitor.

EDIT: What do you mean type it in by hand, I'm incredibly sorry, but I'm not too technologically savvy with flashing an xbox 360, and all the work that goes into it. It's my first one. :) OH and by the way, it's a Lite-On, if that helps?

Oh ya, the monitor cable's are in the VGA Ports, they can't even fit into the 9 pin, they have, I think 12 + pins, in them.

Alright, that didn't work, I entered COM 1, didn't work, COM 2, didn't work. COM 3, didn't work. COM 4, didn't work.

Hey CoFree, that doesn't quite help me, since my COM port, doesn't show up. God D*****. Why is this so f***ing hard!!!

HAHAHAHAHA I feel like such a dumbass, there's one VGA and two serial cables. Hahaha, I thought the VGA was a serial too. WOW. I feel so stupid, Which one would it be(CK3) COM port 1 or 2? Since I only have two actual serial cables hooked into it. I guess I should try both?? Wow.. And Jungle Flasher still won't show any COM Ports, hmm..

use iprep v008.8 and
hit the refresh button.
It should list your com ports.the 9 pin rs232 port will be com1 and com2 if you have 2 of the 9 pin plugs on your computer.
try to hook it to com 1
but it dont mater which one you use as long as iprep knows which one you are going to use.

Jungle flasher won't find any COM ports for me either.

Once you are certain which port it is you can enter it manually in jungle flasher, if it finds something there, it keeps hold of that port...
