Why Cant I Boot From USB?

lol i dont think god wants me to flash my xbox 360 lol but i have alll my steps down tight just as i was about to start the flash i did not have the opion ti boot from usb? i can on my laptop but not on my destop i have the Dell OptiPlex GX240 Windows Xp how can i boot from USb? thx all in advane

make sure the usb is definately bootable and if so when you restart your pc, try pressing delete or f12 or any key which you think will get you into dos mode. after you get to the dos mode, there should be an option where you select which device to boot first, make sure you have a usb plugged in before you enter dos mode. when selecting the first bootable drive, make siure your usb is the first one to boot. after that save and restart and your usb should boot now

hold on, so your saying my computer wont boot with a Usb? i know my usb is bootable because i tested it with my laptop and it booted fine. how can i change the setting so i can boot via USB?

yes thats the first thing i tried, and i got noting i saw 4 options and not one of them said USB stick. i know im doing something wrong but what?

i just wanna say thx to you alll you have helped me sooooo much but i think i think i figured out my problem my PC is just shit dont really even know why i paid so much for it lol i have been doing some research on google about why my PC wont boot Via USB and it could be my Bios dont support it but i wanna know can i boot with a floppy disk? i wanna know before i go out to radio shack today before i waist even more money so i can like save the Iprep information on a floppy disk and boot using that instead of my USB? and the 4 things i can only choose are

1 Normal
2 Diskette Drive
3 Hard-Disk Drive C:
4 IDE CD-ROM Device

and when i go into settings, to see it i can locate my boot sequence i only see these three




so thats pretty much how it looks for me oh and before i forget i also wanna know like can i copy the Iprep information on a blank CD? like for music? i have some of those, in other words can i use something else besides a USB stick? thx a million to you all i am truly Grateful

No you should be ok , just make sure it`s decent floppy disk , i have some that work and some that don`t that`s all.

make sure you put some thing on the floppy and just play with it to make sure it is working good.

keep in mind it takes a lot long for thing to work/run on a floppy.
hell it takes 2 or 3 min for firmtool to start and make your hacked firmware.
do not flash till you have checked your dumped firmware to make sure the key isd good.

ok i just got back from Staples and i have my floppy, i wanted to ask you Cofree what do you mean "do not flash till you have checked your dumped firmware to make sure the key isd good"? how do i check that it is good because i REALLY dont wanna mess this up, and i dont mind the wait times just as long as it's done thx bro
