Lite-On Noise on 2nd Eject

Post by cyantific »

Was wondering if your lite-on drives make a loud noise when they're on their back and you hit eject for the second time to close them?

It's a scary noise lol but I've just been ignoring it.

The next drive I do I will try putting the rear lid back on the drive before ejecting for the second time. I think it will still make the noise because the drive is upside down but we'll see.

When I flashed mine it started making a weird noise, but I just moved it around until it stopped.

After successful flashing I turned off the CK3. I unplugged the SATA cable and screwed the rear lid back onto the drive. I then turned it over, turned the CK3 back on, and hit eject for the second time to close the tray. No loud reverberation noise anymore!

On some of the ones that I've done, I haven't noticed any strange noises while having the cover off, but after getting everything done up and putting the drive back in the 360 I have noticed a few of them making a strange noise the first time running a disk in the drive. Almost like the disk wasn't seated properly or something and was making alot of vibration. Ejecting the disk and re-inserting it corrected the problem. It's not happened on all of the ones that I've done, but I would say its happened on about 4 out of 10 I would say.

Of the four, did you push the tray back in or eject it to close it (before reassembly)?

Pushed em in by hand. I figured that had something to do with it, so from then on out, I ejected and closed the drive through the CK3.
