Errors with LIteOn

Post by shlomes »

As a lot of people i am getting the bad dvd key error in dos using iprep.
My hardware settings are: Intel ICH9 SATA, CK3 with probe and winxp sp3.
CK3Tool and Jungle do find the drive (also iprep) on the port ans i tried diffrent ports too.
Maybe it will help someone or sombody can halp me when they read the error log from jungle and ck3tool......

JungleFlasher 0.0.43 Beta
Session Started Mon Jan 26 22:47:35 2009
Found 4 I/O Ports.
Found 1 Com Ports.
Found 2 windows drives.
Found 0 CD/DVD drives.
Sending DVDKey request to I/O port 0xD600 and COM1
................ Serial Data is bad,
DVDkey files extraction aborted!

and
CK3 Tool 1.2.4
Your drive key is
0000:cc cc cc cc cc cc cc cc - cc cc cc cc cc cc cc cc................

Inquiery string seems ok also dos the Identify string
the 3 bins are saved and i get "Warning key.bin containsan invalid key" wich i checked with hexeditor.

on ck3 home page they say to turn off the drive unplug the sata from dvd and plug back in and power on. did for several times with same result. also used a screwdriver and a peper clip instad of the probe. all the same.

please you heros of sherwood forest tell me i dont have to solder or evan worse send it for flashing to a shop. this would be realy embaresing for me........

I've only had one drive that I've not been able to get the key from. I never could get it either. It kept giving me 0's for the key and no matter what I did, that was the end result. A key of 0's. I don't know if you've tried the new jungleflasher or not, but it works great for me. Since you don't have a VIA card, it would complain when you first start it up that it found no VIA ports, but if it will work with an intel chipset, it should work just the same for you. It may just be that you need a VIA card to do it with, but I do know there are more than just you that see's this problem.

No one has been able to get a complete dump of the orig lite-on firmware.
so NO you can not flash back orig firmware in the lite-on.
Flashing a lite-on is a one way trip at this time

I know they are talking about a firmware that will work like a orig (wont play backup)
but
there is no eta on that

all the other drive can be restored to there orig firmware. ;)

Shouldn't do as you should have have allready broke the warranty seal to get into the drive. Then again there have been people who have sent their flashed 360's back to microsoft and received replacements. I think its down to the luck of the draw.

sssssh, if your careful, you can get the drive sticker off just like the sticker on the front of the 360.
